Sometimes that happens to me with other games and rebooting the computer fixes it
This game is very cool... but for some reason, I just can't find the rhythm for when we fall from the plane. In the other segments, I can get into a groove, but that part always throws me off. Any tips?
Edit: Drums, huh? Hmm, maybe that's what I missed... I didn't notice them when I played, so maybe I should be on the lookout (listenout?) for those.
Thanks! I have some trouble there too, I've noticed it might not be completely in sync there. It goes with the groove of the kick drum in that part. You almost have to follow the drums with a bit of a drag to get it right. I'll see if I can get it tighter in an update
Very good!
Thanks, Antonio!!!! <3
Great puzzle game with quite the intriguing story... though there's a point when, if I use the play button on screen instead of the spacebar, it kinds bugs itself out, and prevents me from removing wires or operators, while it still allows me to place them. A quick level switch back and forth fixes the issue, bit it can be a bit annoying for some.
Just fixed it!
Very cool! I have yet to get used to the sensitivity of the mouse and Git Gud, but this is really fun.
Edit: Ok, now that I finished the game on "Hey, not too rough", as I never played Doom before, let me tell ya this: the game is a freaking masterpiece. From the levels, which are easy to navigate, to the enemies, fantastic sprites, to the music, bombastic at the start, sorrowful at the end, the secrets, never too obvious but still hinted at, the Cyberdemon fight was also really cool... If I didn't know, I'd say this was an official Doom title! Despite only having 6 levels, the game feels full and worthy of the title. Fantastic job!
Edit: the one new thing that comes to mind might be the low count of songs, but I don't know how are the limitations of PICO-8 and the amount of space you've had left after programming the engine and maps and such. The placement of the songs is great though, but I still think hearing "At Doom's Gate" for 3 consecutive levels might be a bit too much.
One thing, though. I didn't get the respective medal for beating the game... Only a secret medal, the cartographer. What did I even do to get that one?
Answer: I do? Funny, I can't see them... Are you sure about that? Anyway, how the heck did I even get the Cartographer Medal? Getting every item? I did find every secret in all levels, so there's that...
Finally did it on "hurt me plenty" mode! And all the secrets, in one go, all demons slayed and only died once to the Cyberdemon.
Double Edit: Ultra Violence. Beaten. No deaths.
thanks! Looking at your profile, you do have all the medals, so it seems ok?
Cartographer is finding all secrets!
Awesome game, with some epic, kick-ass music and mechanics, a good variety of enemies and challenges, and an awesome boss that turns your own powers against you! Very well done!
Thank you very much for playing!
When I saw this game on the front page, I couldn't help but smile. This was a very pleasant surprise, I remember playing the first two games some years ago, and loving it, all of it. The puzzles, the atmosphere, the characters, the music... And, like the previous entries, this one was also an absolute joy to play. I felt absolutely tense when the accident at the Root happened, the music and the characters' reactions did a fantastic job to cause that panic. Keep up with the amazing work!
P.S. that secret area, anything to do with the fourth world we're going to visit?
You'll have to find out! Don't want to give anything away yet.
Fantastic game! A really good platformer, with its own charm and personality. Pretty tough at the end, especially for those who are trying to get all the nickels (I got enough to pay the pizza guy, and also a 1,00$ tip, is that all of them?), but still good and enjoyable enough to not rage quit. Very well done! Also, I'm looking forward to that pizza guy bonus mode :D
Thanks, glad it wasn't too frustrating!
Yeah 1.00c is the biggest tip, in the future I may add some rewards/different dialogues when you get every coin, but I guarantee nothing about the pizza guy mode x)
